I have been working in the field of sport and culture for over 30 years, developing projects, and raising funding for both capital and revenue projects.
I started the Step Up Sports Consultancy in 2015, and prior to that I had held the role of Head of Sport & Recreation for the London Borough of Lewisham, latterly including the management and development of a number of leisure contracts across the Borough.
I have managed a number of key events such as the Blackheath Fireworks Display in London over a period of years, and levered in European funding for town twinning events such as a ‘Midnight’ Basketball event.
I also have experience of arts development, and have worked at a number of Regional Arts Associations.
Experience
During my time in local government I have raised funding from external sources for a large number of facilities and revenue projects. Facilities have ranged from multi use games areas, to sports halls and artificial turf pitches.
I also have experience of project management, and writing sport specific plans and sports strategies.
Recently, in 2020, I raised £197,000 towards the provision of a public cycle and pathway, and a Pump Track.
Currently I am fundraising for projects including, a 3G football pitch, a sports Pavillion, a second cycle/pathway and some floodlighting.
I have recently taken up a voluntary role as Director of Battle Town Football Club, which is a Community Interest Company (CIC).
My areas of specialism are sport strategy and fundraising.
